Redmi A2, Redmi A2 Plus with Helio G36, 5,000mAh battery launched globally

Redmi A2 series has been launched globally. Xiaomi has launched a slew of Redmi phones, such as the Redmi 12C, Redmi Note 12 4G, Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 5G, and Note 12 Pro+ 5G, in the global market. The Redmi A2 and A2 Plus handsets that have debuted now are entry-level models and are successors to last year’s Redmi A1 and A1 Plus.

Since the Redmi A1 series debuted in the Indian market, the Redmi A2 lineup is also expected to release in India. A recent leak revealed that the A2 Plus might also release as the POCO C51 in the country. Here is a look at the specifications, features, and price of the Redmi A2 lineup for the global market.

Redmi A2, Redmi A2+ specifications and features 

Redmi A2

The Redmi A2 and A2+ feature a 6.52-inch IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch. It supports an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 60Hz refresh rate. Both phones run on Android 12 (Go edition).

The all-new MediaTek Helio G36 chipset powers the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+. The A2 series is equipped with up to 3GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. Both pack a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging via the microUSB port.

Redmi A2 Plus

The Redmi A2 and A2+ have a 5-megapixel camera on the front. Their back panels feature a dual-camera unit featuring an 8-megapixel primary camera and a VGA camera. Both phones offer common connectivity features like dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Redmi A2 series has a textured back panel. The only major difference between the phones is that the Redmi A2 Plus comes equipped with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The A2 lineup measures 164.9 x 76.75 x 9.09mm and weighs around 192 grams.

Xiaomi is yet to reveal the price and availability of the Redmi A2 series. All that is known is that both models will come in three colours, such as blue, green, and black.
