According to a report from IANS, the feature is presently undergoing testing with a limited user base. However, it is anticipated to be released to all users within the next few weeks. This functionality will be accessible to both iOS and Android users. This development follows WhatsApp’s recent introduction of the ability to edit text messages within a 15-minute timeframe after sending.

Moreover, in a bid to offer users more control over their conversations, WhatsApp has introduced an exciting new feature that allows for the editing of sent messages. Users can access the ‘Edit’ option from the menu within fifteen minutes of sending by simply long-pressing on a sent message.

With the latest update, WhatsApp users can now also edit captions for pictures. This can be done by performing a long-press on the message containing the image and selecting the “Edit” option from the menu that appears. Users can save their changes once the edit is complete by tapping “Send.”

It’s important to note that the editing feature has a time limit of fifteen minutes after sending a message. This limitation prevents the manipulation of captions in older messages, which could potentially mislead or deceive others. Although the default setting for sharing photos remains in Standard Quality, users can now upgrade individual photos to HD quality on a case-by-case basis. This ensures that sharing photos on WhatsApp remains efficient and reliable, even when dealing with limited bandwidth.
