Upcoming movies of Prabhas in 2023-24: Salaar, Project K and more

Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju, popularly known as Prabhas, is a Pan-India superstar. Prabhas tasted commercial success long before his Bollywood debut in Baahubali, a movie that cemented his place across genres and movies.

For those unaware, Prabhas is the son of film producer Uppalapati Surya Narayana Raju. He made his debut with the romantic thriller called Varsham, which worked its magic at the box office. He has a vast body of work in Telugu cinema, and some of his notable movies include Darling, Mirchi, Mr Perfect, and Chattrapati. 

However, S.S Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) shot Prabhas into the national limelight. The movie picked up several awards, including a National Film Award. Chapter 2 of Baahubali was made on a budget of Rs 250 crores, and its worldwide collection was Rs 1810 crores. It was the first movie that crossed Rs 1,000 crores at the box office, cementing Prabha s’s place among the superstars in Indian cinema. Baahubali’s popularity opened doors, and more big-budget films followed and are still coming. 

Prabhas today commands a massive fee, one of the highest in the country, and has even found a place in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list thrice thanks to his net worth and popularity. Prabhas has received several nominations for Filmfare Awards South and the SIIMA Award, and the Nandi Award. Prabhas holds the distinction of being the only actor from South India who has a wax statue at Madame Tussauds.

Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire

Salaar is one of the most anticipated Indian films of 2023. Prashanth Neel is the writer and director of this Telugu-language action thriller. It comes from the makers of the K.G.F. franchise films and Kantara, Hombale Films. The movie was announced in December 2020, and its principal photography commenced near Telangana’s Godavarikhani in January 2021. Bhuvan Gowda is its cinematographer, and Ravi Basrur composed the film’s music.

Prabhas plays the titular character in it, and with bated breaths, his ardent fans are looking forward to the movie. Salaar is an original story that has been penned exclusively for Prabhas. With the film, cinema enthusiasts can brace themselves for an extraordinary tale of rebellion filled with power-packed, high-octane action.

Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tinnu Anand, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, Ramachandra Raju, Ramachandra Raju, Jhansi, Prudhvi Raj, Madhu Guruswamy, Saptagiri, and Naga Mahesh star in it, alongside the Rebel Star Prabhas. Vijay Kiragandur is its producer. The expectations are high from Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire.

Initially, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire was scheduled to be released theatrically on September 28, 2023. However, the makers have announced that the release is now postponed. The new release date will be revealed in due course.

Project K/ Kalki 2898 AD

Project K/Kalki 2898 AD, the forthcoming epic science fiction movie, is scheduled to be released theatrically on January 12, 2024. In February 2020, in conjunction with the production banner’s (Vyjayanthi Movies’) 50th anniversary, the project was unveiled with the working title Project K. The title was later revealed to be Kalki 2898 AD. According to reports, Kalki 2898 AD is perhaps the most expensive movie produced to date in India.

A renowned ensemble cast, including Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, Pasupathy, and Dubbaka Bhaskar Rao, star in the movie. Given the power-packed cast, the budget, and the genre, expectations from Kalki 2898 AD are skyrocketing. In July 2023, a glimpse of the film was shared in the public domain, which has got cinema lovers pumped and excited about it.

The glimpse generates the right amount of curiosity with its visuals, scenes, and more. To give the universe of Kalki 2898 AD an authentic and genuine feel, high-end technology and futuristic vehicles were developed. The audiences are excited to watch Deepika Padukone playing the lead opposite Prabhas. The film will be released in Telugu and Hindi audio formats.

Spirit 

This is touted to be Prabhas’ 25th movie and will be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director of Kabir Singh. Prabhas is reportedly going to start shooting this movie after finishing the production of Project K. This movie will be released in 8 languages, including Telugu, Kannada, Korean, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Mandarin, and Japanese. This is a romantic action entertainer. Bhushan Kumar, under the T Series banner, is the producer.

Maruthi Dasari’s next/ Raja Deluxe

The Pan-India actor has also been roped in to be a part of Maruthi Dasari’s next movie. The working title of the movie is Raja Deluxe, and the actor has already wrapped up the first schedule of the movie. Unlike the other movies in his lineup, this is a low-key family movie. Not much is known about the movie except that Boman Irani is expected to play the role of Prabhas’ father in this one. It is expected that Prabhas will first wrap up his Pan-India projects and then devote his time to Raja Deluxe.
