Upcoming Realme phone sporting Dynamic Island-like cutout appears in the wild

Dynamic Island burst onto the scene in 2022 with the announcement of the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Simply put, this is a cutout above the screen for specific notifications, with the ability to interact with them. It didn’t take long for a third-party Android app to offer a Dynamic Island-like feature for the pleasure of Android users. It has now come to light that an upcoming Realme phone may include its version of Dynamic Island, known as Mini Capsule, by default.
The revelation comes from @Onleaks and Smartprix, detailing a still image of Mini Capsule in action and a GIF, which you can see below. It’s hard to tell if this cutout can provide more than just battery-charging notifications.

Lot of unknowns about Realme Mini Capsule
The name of the device is yet unknown. But based on the popularity of Apple’s Dynamic Island, we’re likely to see this across Realme’s future flagships. What’s interesting from this animation is that Realme’s implementation seems to offer more screen space when the notifications are dismissed as compared to Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro series.
Realme has been working on implementing a Dynamic Island-like feature for quite some time now. As Gadgets360 notes, the company ran a contest through its official forum page in September 2022 to discover the most exciting adaptation of Dynamic Island on Android. A winner was determined a month later, though it’s unclear if their input was sought for the final product.
