Infinix launches a New 8+128GB Variant for its Smart 8

Infinix is making aggressive strides in the entry-level segment. Earlier last month, it launched a budget offering in the form of Infinix Smart 8 (review). It is now beefing up the offering with the launch of a new variant of the same phone. The new variant has an additional memory than the previously launched phone, and the rest of the specifications remain in line with the past offering. The newly launched Infinix Smart 8 comes with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The earlier version had 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage under the hood.

Infinix Smart 8 specifications and features

boasts a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display delivering an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels, featuring a refresh rate of up to 90Hz and a brightness of up to 500 nits. Running on Android 13, it incorporates the XOS 13 UI for a seamless user experience. Ensuring security, the Smart 8 is equipped with a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

For capturing moments, the device sports an 8-megapixel front camera with an LED flash for selfies and video calls. On the rear, it houses a 50-megapixel primary camera, an AI lens, and a quad-LED flash setup.

Under the hood, the Infinix Smart 8 is driven by the MediaTek Helio G36 chipset, accompanied by 8GB of RAM, 8GB of virtual memory, and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It packs a robust 5,000mAh battery supporting 10W charging through the USB-C port. Connectivity options include dual SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The phone is available in four colour options that include- Blue, Gold, Black, and White.

In India, the Infinix Smart 8 is competitively priced at Rs 7,499, which includes a 10% discount offered to ICICI bank debit and credit cardholders.
